Fifteen minutes. That is about what it takes to go from "I should try CUR8" to an organization that is ready to schedule rehearsals, sell tickets, and bring your whole cast together in one place. Create your account and organization
- Go to CUR8.com/login and enter the phone number or email you want to use for your login, then select Let's Go.
- CUR8 sends a 6 digit verification code to that phone or email. Enter it and select Submit. No passwords to remember, ever.
- Choose Create New Organization. A tip from the setup team: use the name that matches your organization's W9, since that keeps payments simple later.
- Add your organization's billing contact. This can be someone other than you, like a treasurer or bookkeeper. They receive funds and notifications and do not need a CUR8 login of their own.
- Create your admin profile: your name, a secondary contact method, and your birthday.
- Set your organization's Join Code and your ticket purchase URL, agree to the terms, and select Sign Up.
That is it. You will land inside your new organization, and CUR8 offers a quick intro tour on your first visit.
One thing worth knowing before you start: a CUR8 organization is an entity with a single bank account and tax ID. If you are part of a school district, each school or department typically registers as its own organization, and you can manage several organizations from one login.
Make it feel like home
Two small settings make everything you create look right from day one.
Your cover photo. This banner appears on all of your new projects automatically. From the Organization Menu in the top left, choose your organization, then Preferences/Settings, then Options, and upload a 1530 by 306 pixel JPEG. Our cover photo tutorial covers the details.
Your team's permissions. CUR8 has clear roles: Admins run the organization, Project Creators can spin up new events, and project level roles like Ticketing Manager and Box Office Sales let you hand out exactly the access each helper needs. You will find these under Account Permissions in the same settings area.
Create your first project
From your Project Landing Page, select Create New Project and give your show a home. As you set it up you will choose a location, and this is the one decision worth planning ahead:
- Generic locations are for non ticketed events like rehearsals and meetings.
- General Admission venues are ticketed, first come first seated.
- Reserved Seating venues give every ticket a specific seat. CUR8 builds your seating chart from a diagram of your house, and that takes about five business days, so if your fall show is reserved seating, send your diagram early.
Add ticketing if your event needs it, then save your draft. On cost: CUR8 has no subscriptions, no setup fees, and no contracts. In person tickets are one dollar plus 3.5 percent per transaction, and comp tickets and local cash sales are always free. Bring in your people
Your Join Code is how your cast, crew, and families connect. Share it as a QR code, a link, or just the code itself. Everyone joins at CUR8.com/join, creates their own login, and enters your code. They land in your organization as Participants, ready for you to assign roles, add to schedules, and reach through communications.
The join code connects people to your whole organization, so you only share it once, not once per show.
