What Are CUR8 Credits?

A drama teacher plans communications at her desk beside a jar of ticket stubs

Credits are the fuel behind CUR8's communication and engagement tools, and understanding them takes about two minutes. This training video covers what CUR8 Credits are, why they matter, and the two ways to build your balance. The full guide is below.

What are CUR8 Credits?

Think of credits as fuel for the tools that keep your community engaged: SMS and email notifications, marketing emails through CUR8 Connect, Film Review minutes for both recording and playback, and internal messages within your organization. Usage is predictable: one credit equals one marketing email engagement or one minute of Film Review time, so you always know what an action costs.

Why credits matter

Credits let you stay connected with participants and supporters, send reminders and updates with ease, and scale features like Film Review and Connect as your program grows. You manage a resource instead of guessing at costs, which keeps your program finances predictable.

Two ways to get credits

Purchase packages. Bigger bundles earn bonus credits: $25 brings 1,000 credits, $50 brings 2,200, $100 brings 4,600, and $250 brings 11,400. There is also a starter option at $10 for 350 credits if you want to test the waters.

Earn through ticket sales. Every ticket sold earns your organization 20 CUR8 Credits automatically, and you can choose to pass a small credit fee (about fifty cents per ticket) to attendees at checkout. If your ticketing is already running, your credit balance builds itself; see our foundation guide to ticketing if you are just getting started.

Pro tip: estimate before you buy

Count the emails you plan to send, the Film Review time you expect to use, and whether you will use notifications. Unsure? Start with a mid-sized package and let ticket sales build the rest. That keeps you flexible without over-buying upfront.
